Soho Theatre i London har bannlyst komikeren Paul Currie for å ha kastet ut et jødisk medlem av publikum som ikke ville applaudere for det palestinske flagget under en forestilling sist lørdag.

Da forestillingen «Shtoom» var over, ble jødiske publikumsmedlemmer overøst med aggressive skjellsord av den Belfast-fødte komikeren, som krevde at de forlot teatret, melder Daily Mail.

Den engelske avisen har gjort et eksklusivt intervju med en av dem, Liahav Eitan, som forteller at Currie jaget ham ut fra teaterbygningen.

Currie is accused of encouraging the crowd to chant ‘get the f*** out’ and ‘free Palestine’ at Israeli ticketholder Liahav Eitan at the London theatre on Saturday.

Soho Theatre tar avstand fra Currie, og tildragelsen etterforskes av London-politiet.

Eitan, en IT-spesialist som flyttet fra Israel til London for fem år siden, forteller at han og en venn rett og slett rømte fra teatret via scenen:

‘The only way out was through the stage. We had to actually get on the stage quite close to him – and I was quite afraid that he’d throw a punch because he was still cursing and shouting.

‘He got out his Palestine flag again and shouted «motherf***er you’ll have to watch it again on your way out».’

Andre medlemmer av publikum gav de to uvennskapelige blikk da de gikk sin vei, sier Eitan, som anet mobbtendenser:

‘From the audience, we were mostly scared. We wanted to get out of the of the situation. It seemed like a bit of a mob mentality that could go sour any second.

Forestillingen var bisarr men ålreit, helt til Currie foldet ut det palestinske flagget og bad publikum om å reise seg, fortsetter han.

Etter forestillingen ble Eitan og hans venn ble sittende da mange blant publikum gav stående applaus.

Det utløste sarkasme fra Currie på deres bekostning:

Currie, who often shares pro-Palestine content on social media, is then said to have shown his appreciation to the crowd for coming before sarcastically thanking Mr Eitan and his friend for not standing up and clapping.

Reaksjonen fra de to fikk Currie til å anklage dem for sarkasme:

Mr Eitan said that Currie ‘lingered’ on them for around five to ten seconds until he responded: ‘Thank you for that Palestine flag’.

Currie then seemed ‘quite taken aback’ and asked Mr Eitan if he was being sarcastic.

Ordvekslingen fortsatte, og på spørsmål fra Currie sa Eitan at han likte forestillingen helt til det palestinske flagget ble rullet ut. Da høstet han og ledsageren denne kraftsalven:

‘Then he just turns back to me and starts screaming, ‘I’m from Belfast. I know everything about ceasefires. Ceasefire now, get the f*** out of my theatre. Get out, get the f*** out of my show, motherf***ers.’

Komikeren selv angrer tilsynelatende ikke på oppførselen:

Yesterday Currie seemingly doubled down on his alleged behaviour by posting a pro-Palestine poster to his Instagram story this morning.

It read: ‘I will not quietly nor politely sit and make house within the depravity of this killing machine’.
