Mens mektige EU-politikere i Brussel presser på for åpne grenser, viser Ungarn at det finnes et alternativ til den liberale migrasjonspolitikken, hevder Ungarns justisminister Judit Varga.
The minister’s statement, posted to Facebook last Tuesday, came in response to a recent proposal put forward by the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice, and Home Affairs (LIBE), which she contends runs “completely contrary to the interests of the people of Europe”.
LIBE-medlem Sylvie Guillaume fra det franske sosialistpartiet, og er tilknyttet den venstreliberale gruppen i EU-parlamentet, The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats. Guillaume ønsker en svært liberal migrasjonspolitikk, og åpner for større grad av legal migrasjon.
“We encourage the European Commission to take new and determinate actions in the area of legal migration. We need to harmonize the European legal migration policy and establish organized, predictable and safe migration channels into the EU.»
Legale, organiserte, forutsigbare og trygge migrasjonskanaler inn til EU-landene. Dette er helt i tråd med tankene bak FNs migrasjonspakt. Men den ungarske justisministeren Varga avviser forslaget.
“When we had hoped that the left would finally hear the voice of the people, the latest LIBE report called for a single EU immigration code, which would give a green light to migration flows toward Europe, thus deluging the European labor market with a unskilled, cheap workforce,” Varga said.
Varga henviser til Ungarns program Hungary Helps — som viser Europa at andre løsninger ger tilgjengelige og mulige. Gjennom dette programmet har Ungarn nylig returnert 200 syriske asylsøkere trygt tilbake til hjemlandet. Også Danmark returnerer syrere til det de anser er trygge områder i Syria.
“As long as bureaucrats in Brussels write reports , initiate proceedings and speak harshly to other countries through the global liberal media, however, the Hungary Helps program is setting an example and getting real help where it is really needed,” said Varga.
